Makhadzi goes mega: Two stadiums. Two nights. All woman power

Makhadzi one woman show

Limpopo is about to witness history as Makhadzi takes centre stage for not one but two nights at two stadiums in what promises to be one of the boldest live music spectacles South Africa has ever seen. Titled “Makhadzi: One Woman Show – Womandla!” this is not just another concert – it’s a celebration of power, homegrown stardom, and African excellence.

Set to take over Makhuvha Stadium on 20 December and Rabali Stadium on 21 December, the show will welcome over 60,000 fans in total. But it’s the line-up announcement that’s sending waves across the scene – and it’s only the first phase.

DJ Zinhle, Nomcebo Zikode, MickeyBlack, Shandesh, and the ever-iconic Somizi Mhlongo have been revealed as the first artists joining Makhadzi on stage – and they are all proudly female.

“The first phase introduces the strong, powerful women who inspire me,” Makhadzi said, emphasizing that this event is as much about music as it is about honouring African female artistry. “This show is about honouring the voices that are shaping the future.”

In true Makhadzi fashion, the announcement did not come via a press conference or a flashy ad – she did it at a taxi rank in her hometown of Thohoyandou. That is the very same place where she once sang her heart out with just a speaker and big dreams. “I will never forget where I come from,” she said. “That’s why I chose to launch at home, with the people who believed in me first.”

This bold two-night, two-stadium move is unheard of – but for Makhadzi, it is personal. It is symbolic. “It shows how far we’ve come… and how much further we can go.”

The Womandla! show is more than a concert. It’s a movement. It’s an invitation to celebrate women who lead, who create, who own the stage and rewrite the rules.

Tickets are already available via Computicket. Secure your spot – this is one for the history books.
