A milestone moment for gospel music
South Africa’s iconic gospel ensemble, Joyous Celebration, is celebrating an incredible milestone – 30 years in the music industry – with the release of its 30th instalment and a nationwide tour.
Announced on 13 March 2026, the Joyous 30/30 Nationwide Tour will honour the group’s legacy while introducing fresh musical experiences for audiences across the country.
Johannesburg to host the grand opening
The tour will officially kick off in Johannesburg with a special run of performances at the Joburg Theatre from 30 April to 03 May 2026.
These opening shows are expected to set the tone for a year-long celebration of gospel music, faith and community, bringing together long-time supporters and new audiences alike.
Celebrating a powerful legacy
Over the past three decades, Joyous Celebration has become one of Africa’s most influential gospel platforms, known for shaping the local gospel industry and launching the careers of some of the country’s biggest artists.
The upcoming shows will reflect on this journey while also looking ahead, blending nostalgia with new talent and contemporary sounds.
Three unique musical experiences
Audiences attending the Johannesburg leg can expect a diverse programme designed to honour the past, celebrate the present and spotlight the future of gospel music.
The Rewind Show will revisit some of the ensemble’s most iconic songs, featuring appearances from past members who helped build the Joyous Celebration legacy. The Friends of Joyous experience will bring together the group with other leading gospel artists for a collaborative celebration of faith and unity.
A special themed evening titled “Crowned in Glory” will add a touch of fashion, elegance and worship, combining music with a sense of occasion that reflects the brand’s evolution over the years.
A platform for new talent
True to its roots, Joyous Celebration will also use the tour to introduce emerging gospel artists through its talent development programme, continuing its long-standing commitment to nurturing new voices in the industry.
Speaking on the milestone, founder Lindelani Mkhize described the 30th instalment as a defining moment for both the brand and the gospel community.
“Reaching our 30th instalment is a remarkable moment for Joyous Celebration. For three decades the platform has created opportunities for extraordinary talent while bringing audiences together through gospel music.”
