adidas turned up the heat in the Mother City with the fourth instalment of Originals Studio, this time powered by the all-new Megaride. Hosted in partnership with Archive Collective, the creative experience fused fashion, design, photography, and sound – all inspired by the bold, tech-driven nostalgia of the 2000s.

adidas Megaride brings 2000s nostalgia to life in Cape Town

The Megaride, a revival of adidas’ early 2000s vis-tech innovation, became the day’s muse. Award-winning stylists Robyn Agulhas and Whitney Rhodes helped participants channel that energy, styling them in standout Originals apparel that reflected the sneaker’s sculpted lines and futuristic proportions.

Bringing the looks to life, photographer and music producer Larnelle Bakala hosted an interactive editorial photography session. His workshop captured the fast, futuristic vibe of the Megaride, blending visual storytelling with motion, culture, and individuality.

adidas Originals Studio celebrates cultural exchange and creative storytelling

Staying true to Originals Studio’s goal of fostering creative collaboration, storyteller and film director Bathandwa Ngwendu hosted a panel featuring visual artist OT Maks (VTSEK Studios), DJ and cultural curator Franadilla, Whitney Rhodes, Robyn Agulhas, and Larnelle Bakala. The discussion explored how design, culture, and identity intersect within the South African creative scene.

In the final segment, OT Maks and Franadilla led a hands-on content and design workshop where participants reimagined 2000s vis-tech nostalgia, using themselves as muses to interpret the Megaride story through their own lens.

The Originals vibe: where fashion meets rhythm

As the sun set, the energy ramped up. DJs Not A She, Dillan Tyler, Franadilla, and Mila Rose brought the beats, turning the space into a vibrant celebration of originality, rhythm, and movement; a true reflection of the adidas Originals spirit.

Scene Feed Thought: The Megaride isn’t just a sneaker, it’s a movement that celebrates creativity, culture, and community. adidas once again proves that when innovation meets individuality, the results are pure originality.
