Abidoza Is Taking Us to the Club With His New Single ‘Club What’

After more than a decade of making soulful Amapiano, South African producer and hitmaker Abidoza is switching things up.

The multi-platinum artist has released ‘Club What’ featuring Djy Vino, marking the start of a new musical chapter for the producer.

Known for his smooth and melodic approach to Amapiano, Abidoza is now leaning into a heavier club sound. The new single brings driving grooves, energetic production and infectious chants that are made for the dance floor.

From Amapiano to the Club

Abidoza has spent years building a name in South African music. His breakthrough came with the 2018 hit Baby Boy. He went on to release tracks such as Siyathandana and Dinaledi.

His catalogue also includes projects such as Musical Touch, Black Child and Pianochella. Along the way, he has worked with artists including Cassper Nyovest, Major League, Focalistic, Davido and CKay.

Now he is showing listeners another side of his artistry.

According to Abidoza, the new sound is a challenge to himself. It also gives him a chance to explore his identity as a performing DJ.

Club Controller Is Coming

‘Club What’ is the first single from Abidoza’s upcoming eight-track EP Club Controller.

The project takes a more energetic approach and is built with DJs, clubs and festivals in mind. The single has already started gaining attention on TikTok and has been making its way into DJ sets ahead of its official release.

Another single is expected in October before the full EP arrives.

For Abidoza, this is about more than simply changing his sound. It is about creating music that comes alive when played in front of a crowd.

Scene Feed Thought

Artists are often expected to stick to the sound that made people fall in love with them. But staying comfortable does not always mean staying creative.

Abidoza has spent years building his identity around soulful Amapiano. Now he is giving himself permission to experiment and explore a side of his artistry that listeners have not heard in a while. That is what makes this new chapter interesting.

‘Club What’ is not Abidoza forgetting where he comes from. It is him showing that there is more to his sound than what we already know. And sometimes the best way to keep people dancing is to give them something they did not expect.

Press play. Turn it up. The Club Controller era has arrived.
