Ever scrolled through TikTok and wished you could try those McDonald’s menu items everyone overseas keeps talking about? Well, you no longer need a passport.
McDonald’s South Africa has launched World Menu Heist, a limited-time campaign that’s bringing some of the fast-food giant’s most popular international menu items to local restaurants.
The idea is simple: “borrow” iconic flavours from around the world, let South Africans enjoy them for a while, and then send them back home.
A Taste of the World
The global-inspired menu features five exclusive items that have built loyal followings in different countries.
On the menu you’ll find the Spicy Korean BBQ Burger from South Korea, the Philly Cheese Stack from the United Kingdom, Black Pepper and Garlic McNuggets inspired by Japan, Chilli Cheese McFlavour Fries from Canada and the refreshing Blue Hawaiian McFizz, inspired by tropical flavours enjoyed around the world.
It’s a chance for local foodies to experience menu items that usually require an international flight, or at least hours of watching food creators online.
Why the Campaign?
According to McDonald’s South Africa, the campaign was inspired by the growing number of customers discovering international McDonald’s menu hacks and exclusive releases through social media.
Instead of leaving fans wishing they could try them, the brand decided to bring some of its biggest global hits directly to South Africa.
The menu is available for a limited time only at participating McDonald’s restaurants, while stocks last.
