Sony Music Africa has made history by signing Windhoek-born singer-songwriter, Ms. Gideon (Panduleni Gideon), marking the first time a Namibian artist joins the global Sony Music roster. Born in 2005, the rising star first discovered her voice in school choirs before sharing cover performances online, where her warm tone and emotive delivery quickly attracted attention.
Her breakthrough moment came in 2024 when she won the Next Narrative Africa talent competition, earning a performance at New York’s legendary Apollo Theater alongside celebrated African artists including Adekunle Gold and Patoranking.
