Johannesburg is a city that moves quickly. Lunch is often squeezed between meetings, deadlines and everything else competing for attention.
The 11th Floor is suggesting we slow things down.
From 25 September to 1 November 2026, the Bedfordview restaurant will take part in Restaurant Week XXL, offering a specially curated two-course lunch menu for R700 per person.
Set against Johannesburg’s skyline, the menu brings together some of The 11th Floor’s signature flavours, with Executive Chef Kyle Marshall drawing on the restaurant’s Mediterranean-inspired approach.
Start with something worth lingering over
There are three starters to choose from, including grilled or fried Patagonian squid with garlic aioli, charred lemon and coarse olive salt.

The Pork Agrodolce offers something richer, pairing crisp-fried pork belly with a sweet and sticky barbecue glaze, pickled carrot ribbons and fermented red chilli.
For a vegetarian option, the sun-dried tomato and olive tortellini combines house-made pasta with grilled artichoke, sweet peas and charred baby onions, finished with crispy spinach and fermented pepper emulsion.
The main event
The main courses keep the same balance between bold flavours and Mediterranean influences.
The 250g fire-grilled beef fillet comes with grilled oyster mushrooms, mushroom crème, yuzu gel, mushroom arancini, edamame and the restaurant’s signature jus.

The Mediterranean lamb rack is served on red pepper hummus with potato pavé, caper mayonnaise and fire-roasted peppers, while the crisp-skinned sea bass comes with crushed new potatoes, warm puttanesca and sugar snap peas.
Guests choose one starter and one main, making the two-course menu flexible enough for different tastes while still giving diners a proper introduction to The 11th Floor’s kitchen.
And perhaps that is the real appeal of this Restaurant Week offering. It is not trying to turn lunch into a quick stop between plans. It is encouraging diners to make the afternoon the plan.
Scene Feed thought
There is something refreshing about being given a reason to take your time over lunch. With Johannesburg’s skyline as the backdrop and a menu that gives you a few difficult choices, The 11th Floor’s Restaurant Week XXL offering makes a convincing case for putting the laptop away and letting lunch take a little longer.
