The Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace delivered a spectacular showcase of glamour, courage, and purpose as Verushka Singh was crowned Mrs South Africa 2026, becoming the first Indian South African woman to hold the title. The grand finale, held on November 14th, marked the culmination of a ten-month empowerment journey, one built on transformation, confidence, and the celebration of real women with real stories.
A Celebration of Authenticity and Womanhood
Inspired by the bold spirit of The Greatest Showman, this year’s theme, “The Greatest Show Woman,” placed individuality at the centre of the production. Powered by headline sponsor iME, the event honoured 28 finalists from across the country, women who spent the past year building leadership skills, taking part in personal development workshops, and driving meaningful community projects.
Mrs South Africa CEO, Joani Johnson, said the programme is designed to uplift every woman who steps onto the stage. “From mothers of nine to cancer survivors and first-time entrepreneurs, each finalist arrived with a story of resilience. What makes Mrs South Africa powerful is that it’s never been about the crown, it’s about rediscovering your voice and using it to create impact.”
A Historic Win for Representation
When Singh’s name was announced as the new queen, the room erupted into applause. Standing alongside First Princess Carika Bebb and Second Princess Talitha Oosthuizen, Singh took her first walk as Mrs South Africa surrounded by an atmosphere of solidarity and sisterhood.

A chemical engineer and climate change strategist, Singh is determined to bring environmental advocacy to the forefront of her reign. “I’m absolutely thrilled,” she said. “This role will be transformative. I want to use my platform to promote sustainability and push conversations around climate change.”
As the newly crowned queen, Singh will represent South Africa at Mrs World, lead national initiatives, and participate in brand partnerships and mentorship programmes aimed at elevating women’s voices across the country.
Couture, Culture, and a Night of Excellence
Hosted by Katlego Maboe, the finale delivered a polished blend of style and storytelling. Judges such as Matapa Maila, Dr Mpho Phalatse, and internationally renowned pageant director Werner Wessels ensured a rigorous and transparent process, supported by PKF auditors.
The audience was treated to high-fashion moments from Von Ami Couture, Gerrit Pienaar, Tienie Boshoff, Dollhouse, and New Romantics, showcasing the artistry of South African design.
The evening was made possible through the support of partners including iME, Chery Krugersdorp, Skin Renewal, Lamelle, Hirsch’s, and many more who continue to uplift the event’s legacy.
Scene Feed Thought:
A stage, a crown, and a moment of history, but beyond it all, Mrs South Africa 2026 reminds us that when women rise, communities rise with them.
